Journey Outline
Journey Outline
Day 1
Day 1
Depart San José early and travel toward the Caribbean lowlands, where roads slowly give way to waterways. As you arrive in the remote region of Tortuguero—often compared to a gentle, Amazon-like world—small boats carry you silently through narrow canals framed by dense rainforest. Later, walk through the village of Tortuguero, where daily life unfolds along canals and jungle paths, and the rhythm of the community is shaped by nature and the water.
Day 2
Day 2
This morning, set out by boat into Tortuguero National Park. Glide quietly through winding canals as the rainforest comes alive around you—howler monkeys calling from the treetops, sloths resting along branches, caimans at the water’s edge, and tropical birds flashing color overhead. The stillness of the canals allows wildlife encounters to feel close, natural, and unhurried.
Day 3
Day 3
Leave the Caribbean behind and journey inland, watching the landscape transform from flat rainforest to rolling hills and volcanic terrain. As Arenal Volcano begins to appear, the air feels different—warmer, charged with geothermal energy—signaling your arrival in one of Costa Rica’s most iconic regions.
Day 4
Day 4
Descend more than 500 steps into the rainforest, each one bringing you closer to the thundering La Fortuna Waterfall. At the bottom, mist fills the air as water crashes into the emerald pool below—a powerful, rewarding moment. Continue along the 1968 Lava Trails, walking across solidified lava flows where nature is slowly reclaiming the land. This day is a vivid reminder of Arenal’s explosive past and its constant renewal.
Day 5
Day 5
Journey toward Monteverde via a scenic boat crossing on Lake Arenal, one of Costa Rica’s most beautiful routes. As evening falls, step into the cloud forest on a guided night walk, discovering nocturnal wildlife and gaining insight into this magical ecosystem that comes alive after dark.
Day 6
Day 6
Experience the cloud forest from above at Treetopia Park. Glide quietly over the canopy on Sky Tram rides and cross suspended bridges during canopy walks, enjoying breathtaking views and close encounters with the forest’s unique biodiversity—an adventure that’s exciting yet accessible for all.
Day 7
Day 7
Travel from the cool, misty cloud forest to the warm Central Pacific coast, where rainforest-covered hills meet the ocean. Arrive in Manuel Antonio and enjoy time to unwind, soak up the tropical atmosphere, or take your first steps onto one of Costa Rica’s most beautiful beaches.
Day 8
Day 8
Walk through Manuel Antonio National Park on a guided nature hike, spotting monkeys leaping overhead, sloths tucked into the canopy, and colorful birds along the trail. The walk ends where the forest meets the sea—on soft white-sand beaches framed by jungle, perfect for swimming, relaxing, and taking in one of Costa Rica’s most beautiful coastal settings.
Day 9
Day 9
Step into the local side of Costa Rica with a cultural and social experience in Quepos. Meet the people behind the destination, learn about community projects and traditions, and gain insight into daily life beyond the national parks—adding meaning and connection to your journey.
Day 10
Day 10
Transfer back to San José for your onward journey, carrying home unforgettable memories of hiking through rainforests, cultural connections, wildlife encounters, and moments of relaxation that made this Costa Rica experience truly complete.
